Assistant Referee in Chief

 

- BCAHA was able to evaluate a number of our officials on Oct. 26 and 28. All reports were positive.

- There was a minor injury to one of our officials. All the necessary paperwork has been filed.

-         All team pictures have been taken.

 

 

Registrar

 

-         2 players have left the Pee Wee Rep team.

 

Motion – SMHA will refund 50% of the carding fee for the 2 Pee wee Rep players who have left the team for extenuating circumstances. (Gregg/Brad) – Carried

 

 

 

Tournament Coordinator

 

-         All tournaments with the exception of the Female Midget, are full.

-         The Initiation tournament has been cancelled to time constraints around the Bantam Provincials.

-         The Midget Rep tournament was a success.

 

 

Equipment Manager

 

-         Some of the team jerseys are in rough shape. Bill will go through the jerseys and report back to the executive. Bill will also look at purchasing used Goalie gear and pick up ice packs for the First-Aid kits.

 

 

Ice Manager

 

–         We will continue to have a maximum of one ice clean per game, even for 2.5 hour games.

 

 

 

Risk Manager

-         No Report

 

Team First

 

-         No Report

 

Member at Large (Brenda)

 

-         The Tim Bits program is offering practice jerseys, with a logo for the Squirt and Initiation teams. Brenda will get more details.

-         Sting Games are scheduled through to the end of January.

 

Initiation Coordinator

 

-         The squirts will continue to have only one Can Skate session/week.

-          

Member at Large (Riley)

 

-          The Legion clean-up was a success.

-         The Midget Rep team did a Poppy Drive on Nov 2nd and the Bantam Rep captains laid the wreath on Remembrance Day. Well done!

 

Head Coach

 

-         31 coaches attended the Development 1 Coaches Clinic including 7 local coaches.

 

President

 

-         Rory to meet with Dale McDonald re: Arena board advertising this week.

-         The Bantam Provincials Sub- Committee will meet on Tuesday, November 20 @7pm @ the Summerland Curling Rink to discuss the requirements of the association.

 

New Business

 

Motion – The SMHA will spend up to $2000 to finish equipping and furnishing the SMHA Office at the Summerland Arena. (Gregg/Al) – Carried

 

Motion – The SMHA will finance the SMHA Office on a monthly basis. Costs to include phone line/FAX line and internet service via Telus. (Gregg/Brad) – Carried

 

-         Al will discuss with the Treasurer the implications of a rate change for the officials for the rest of the 2007-8 hockey season.
