Head Coach

 

-       The coaches room has been cleaned out. All office and arena keys need to be returned to Gregg.

 

President

 

-       The Awards Banquet was a success.

-       A subcommittee was established to look into the registration process. The recommendations from the committee include:

o     – All people wishing bursaries must pay $100 by July 1st in order to be registered and eligible for any potential bursaries.

o     Any child requesting financial support will not be eligible to play on a Rep team.

o     A financial steering committee will be set up by August 15, 2008 to dispense funds.

o     All registration and financial aid will be dispensed on a first come first serve basis.

o     Overage player registration is subject to space availability and SMHA approval. Cheques will be held for all overage players and cashed only after space on a team has been guaranteed.

o     Agm discount will be $25/parent attending with a maximum of one $25 discount per child and 2- $25/discounts per family.

o     There is no further discount for squirts.

o     Registration payment in full is due the first Tuesday after Labour Day.

o     An Atom Development surcharge of $50 has been added.

 

Motion – SMHA will approve in principle the new registration format in order to have it in place by the AGM. (Al/Denise) – Carried

New Business

 

In order to stay in line with the 5% increase for ice next year the following fee increases will be necessary.

-       Initiation  - from $350  to #370

-       Atom – From $350 - $370

-       Pee Wee to Midget - $From $400 to $425.

 

Motion – SMHA will increase the registration fees as stated. (Denise/Brad) – Carried

 

-       Over $500 in interest was made on the term deposit which is about to come due.

-       Westside MHA has generously donated $250 to the Memory of Sam Hanon.

 

A proposal was presented by Ernie on behalf of Canadian Hockey Skills Development Camps. They would like to run the SMHA skills camp in September. The cost to the association would be $600 for track suits for the instructors. This proposal was tabled to the next meeting for a vote.

 

Motion – SMHA will spend up to $200 for a new scanner/printer. (Denise/Shelley) – Carried
