Head Convenor

 

-       The awards banquet for Pee Wee and older has been tentatively set for Thursday, April 3. The plan is for a Turkey Dinner at a cost of $12/person.

-       A letter has been forwarded to the Legion requesting Sponsorship of $460 in order to present 123 individuals with “True Spirit of Hockey” awards at a cost of $30/plaque

-       The Legion has also been asked to donate $525 in order to present 21 players with “Players Player”, “Most Improved” and “Most Dedicated” awards. We are still awaiting a reply from the Legion.

 

Motion – The SMHA will spend up to $1200 on awards for the Awards Banquet, $300 for prizes and up to $125 for the Summerland Jets Cake made by Joanne Anderson, plus hall and meal cost not to exceed $2000 in total. (Brenda/ Al) - Carried

-       The RIC will submit a recommendation to OMAHA for Kirsten Smythe to be nominated to receive a referee scholarship.

 

Motion  - The SMHA will support the registration of 3 spots for officials at the referee school in Osoyoos this summer. Half the registration fee to be covered by the association and half by the participating official. (Al/ Cal) - Carried

-       There is an agreement in principal between SMHA and the Rec Department regarding Arena Board Advertising. Rory will finalize the details.

-        

-       Bantam Provincials     –  1st game is March 15 @ 7am

·      - Ref and Coaches Metting to be held on March 14

·      Rory to find MC for the banquet.

-       Only two teams have responded with names for the Mike Danyluk Bursaries. There are 5 available.

 

New Business

 

-       Rory to register updated by-laws

-       Sam Hanon Memorial Game to be held Friday, March 7 @ 6:15 pm

-       A registration procedure to be drafted by a subcommittee and approved by the executive prior to our next AGM.

-       AGM is tentatively set for April 24th @ 7 pm @ the Summerland Curling Club.

 

 

 

Motion – The SMHA will make an addendum to the by-law to create two new voting positions on the executive, which will be an Assistant Head Convenor and a Fundraising Coordinator.(Denise /Brad) - Carried

The SMHA cover the playoff costs of $440 for the Summerland Atom Development Jets in the amount of $440. (Crystal/ Shelley) – Carried.

 

 

-       Brad will price out the cost of material needed to make sandwich boards, which will be used to provide directions to the Arena during the Bantam Provincials.

 

 

-       Squirt to Atom banquet time and date TBA.
